How to measure your headlight rake correctly To insure the headlight is plumb to the ground, measure the angle of the face to which the headlight is mounted. Following these instructions will get you close enough to insure your bezel is straight as it was intended to look Customers often ask which angled bezel they need. They may say they have a 26" wheel with a 10° neck kit and 8° built-in to the trees. With these dimensions there's no way we can tell what angle the headlight will be due to variations in trees, neck kits and tire aspect of different manufacturers. Step 1: Place the bike on flat, level ground Step 2: Remove the headlight mounting ring from fairing or nacelle Step 3: Stand the bike up right and pointing forward Step 4: Get a protractor like this from the hardware store Step 5: Get a carpenters square like this Step 6: Remove the ruler and the keeper from the square Step 7: With the headlight mounting ring off of the front end, place the protractor blade on the face where the headlight is mounted Step 8: Make sure the protractor is vertical when laid against the headlight seat. This is indicated by the air bubble between the two lines. Step 9: Insert the protractor into the carpenter square slot and rotate protractor until air bubble is between the two lines on the level Step 10: Read the angle right off the protractor, the closest bezel in this instance is an 8°
